Senior Product Designer

Year

2019 – 2020

Process

My team at Meris was given 1 month to conduct research, custom development, and overall UX work. This was quite a good amount of time considering my previous projects. The main objectives in developing the project were:

User story & User flow

The peculiarity was that the service consisted of several other interconnected modules. That is, my floo should not negatively affect the existing ones.

Usability Testing

As a proof of concept, I let the respondents go through the whole journey on their own. There were only moments with feedback, i.e. when the user did not understand when the floo was over. Otherwise, all went through perfectly, without any problems. We supervised 10 respondents from different focus groups with ages from 25 to 52.

There were several tasks on flow and usability. I disguised the tasks so that they would not affect the results.

Results:

  • The success rate is 90%

  • Number of errors

    • First task - 12 (1 critical, 11 minor)

    • The second task is 4 (4 minor)

    • The third task is 7 (1 critical, 6 minor)

  • Execution time - ~32.3 seconds on average

The problem was with the oldest participant, he could not see some elements, lacked technical knowledge.

There was nothing critical with the other respondents. Only moments with the fact that they have a pattern from the old platform. All this was taken into account and was changed.

Design System

The project uses a lot of forms and different inputs. For convenience I didn't make the design system parallel to the UI.

Conclusion

In this project, I learned the skill of working within a limited timeframe. I realized that the design process is not an unyielding wall, but rather a flexible tool. Methods, techniques and approaches can be adapted depending on budget, deadlines and available resources. However, the designer's primary task is to keep the analysis clean and high quality.

We have received a lot of positive feedback from users since the product's introduction into production. Even the management expressed their gratitude in an official letter.
